Architectural photojournalist Robert L Williams has won a $5000 contract to photograph the “World of Architectural Photography” exhibition in Melbourne.
The exhibition will feature images of the work of more than 30 international photographers from around the world.
The project will run at the Victoria University of Technology, which is also the home of the prestigious Australian Institute of Architects.
“I’m delighted to be the first Australian photographer to be selected to photograph this wonderful exhibition,” Mr Williams said.
The competition will be held at the Melbourne Museum from May 3 to June 2, with the winner announced on June 1. “
We’ve seen it from all over the world and the work is so inspiring, it’s a fantastic chance for me to work with a team that’s so passionate about building sustainable cities.”
The competition will be held at the Melbourne Museum from May 3 to June 2, with the winner announced on June 1.
“It is really exciting to be chosen to photograph that wonderful exhibition, which will be a really rare chance for the community to be able to see the work that we’ve been able to do with Australian photographers in the past,” Mr L Williams said in a statement.
“A lot of people are drawn to the work we’re doing with the National Gallery of Australia and we want to be in the same place with the Victorian Museum and our local partners in making sure we’re contributing to the wider community.”
The “World Of Architectural Photos” exhibition will be on view through September 2019.
The competition was established in 2010 to encourage international photographers to participate in the exhibition, with a focus on emerging photographers.
It also encourages submissions to be made in English, French, German, Italian, Korean and Russian.
“If you’re a passionate photographer, we really want to see your work,” Mr Williamson said.
